OUR SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability is our core philosophy at Brilliance Steel and we are increasing our focus in this area to minimise our environmental impact and meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly construction materials.
We recently gained the ISO certification, ISO 14001, for our approved environmental management system. All of the steel mills that we work have ISO 14001 certifications and one of our biggest suppliers received a Sustainability Champions award in 2023 from the World Steel Association.
We are a Silver Charter Member of the Sustainable Steel Council – a group of industry leaders committed to the circular economy and New Zealand’s low-emissions future.
We are also members of the New Zealand Green Building Council, which runs the internationally recognised Green Star certification. Recently we have been working closely with leadership around some improvements to the Green Star rules for steel reinforcing.
